St. John's is a caring place where everyone can live, learn and grow together in Christ.

Master Plan and Building Project

It's been 91 years since Pr. Herman Meyer and the first families of this congregation swung open the door of their brand new church building and processed in singing, "Open Now Thy Gates of Beauty." And it's been 63 years since Pr. Julius Gockel and the next generation of families added a parish hall to meet the changing needs of the new families that were finding their way into this community at that time.

Now it's our turn!

Building Project Update - November 2016

We keep making great progress with the building project.  Groth Design Group has presented four color palettes for the Building Committee to review, and while no final decision has been made yet it sounds like we’ve narrowed down our choices.  Groth will be providing some renderings with the final palette choices for the committee to look at soon.

Our general contractor, Shales McNutt, has worked with contractors in the area to solicit bids for mechanical (which includes our HVAC), electrical and plumbing (MEP).  They received interest from several interested contractors, and after reviewing are ready to make recommendations.  The bids that came in were good, and would be under what was budgeted for this part of the construction.

With the excitement of all this, we wanted to give everyone a chance to see and learn more.  We will have an opportunity to speak with the Building Committee and Groth Design Group after service on Sunday, November 13th, and view some of the updated renderings to see what our new space will look like.  We hope you’ll join us!
